New app to warn commuters when the Luas is going on strike

A new app is aiming to make the Luas strike more bearable for Dublin commuters.

The Luas Strike Tracker will inform users whether the trams are running each day or not.

It also includes the next date of a strike - if there is one planned.

A bonus feature allows users to learn how to operate a Luas tram itself.

But developer Jamie Farrelly points out that this is not an official Luas app, and dates may be incorrect for short periods of time.

The app is available for Android customers.

Tram drivers are staging their 11th strike day in an ongoing dispute over pay. They are due to hold six further strike days next month.
