A finalised Programme for Government could be published as early as tomorrow, it's being reported.

Plans for the first 100 days in office could be released before the end of the month, the Sunday Business Post reports.

Focus Ireland has set out a range of measures through which the the newly formed Government can tackle the spiralling homelessness crisis, including a fast-track amendment to provide greater security for tenants in buy-to-let properties, 27,492 of which are over 90 days in arrears.

They are also calling for rent rises to be linked to inflation; a dramatic rise in rent supplement; and for Nama to deliver more social housing.

Nearly 300 families with 600 children became homeless in the first 3 months of this year alone in Dublin.

While new Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government Simon Coveney will have responsibility for housing and Irish Water, the new Minister for Communications, Roscommon Galway TD Denis Naughten, says rural Ireland is his top priority.

Speaking to Galway Bay FM, Mr Naughten says climate change will be a huge challenge.
