Appeal for witnesses after 80-year-old man dies in Co Kilkenny collision

The driver of a second car suffered serious injuries

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after an 80-year-old man was killed in a collision in County Kilkenny yesterday.

The crash happened at around 4.30pm when two cars collided on the N77 Kilkenny-Ballyragget Road at Suttonsrath in Jenkinstown.

An 80-year-old man, the driver and sole occupant of one of the cars, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at scene.

The driver of the second car, a 59-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Waterford University Hospital where his condition is described as stable.
