Teenager arrested in connection with serious assault in Dublin

A man (21) received serious injuries to his face during the incident in the early hours of Monday morning

A 16-year-old has been arrested in connection with a serious assault in Dublin in the early hours of last Monday morning.

It happened at the junction of Dame Lane and Trinity Street just after 1am on Bank Holiday Monday.

A 21-year-old man received serious injuries to his face and was taken to St James's Hospital.

Gardaí in Pearse Street investigating the assault arrested the male teenager this morning.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident, in particular anybody who approached the ambulance when the injured man was receiving treatment.
