More than half of CAO applicants changed their original choices last year
From midday today, Leaving Cert and mature students hoping to study at third level will be able to change the choices on their CAO form.
With more than 76,000 students applying for courses as of February, it is expected to be one of the busiest years for the CAO in recent memory.
In 2014, more than half of CAO applicants used the 'Change of Mind' facility.
Betty McLoughlin is President of the Irish Institute of Guidance Counselors, and told Newstalk Breakfast you can actually change after you sit the Leaving Cert.
"They might say 'I need to put in a plan B... I'm not going to get the points that I thought'. So they might put in a back-road into the course that they want," she explained.
"That's perfectly normal, and it's great that that facility is available. You have a window of opportunity for about ten days when they have completed their Leaving Cert," she added.
You can find out more about the 'Change of Mind' process on the CAO website. The facility closes on July 1st.
