Man suffers hammer attack at Belfast cemetery

Detectives in Belfast are appealing for information after a man was attacked with a hammer in a cemetery in the city.

The 24-year-old was blocked by a number of masked men in a white coloured Hyundai car as he was leaving Belfast City Cemetery at about 2.30 on the afternoon of Thursday 21 April.

The masked men got out of the car and attacked him with a hammer. The man was left needing treatment in hospital for several leg injuries.

The only reported the incident to police eight days later on Friday 29 April.

The PSNI is appealing to anyone with information to contact them.
