Acting Justice Minister to release Garda malpractice report 'as soon as possible'

This follows an investigation after a whistleblower announced the malpractice

The Acting Justice Minister has promised to publish a report into alleged Garda malpractice in Cavan-Monaghan as soon as possible.

The final report of the O'Higgins commission of investigation into garda corruption was handed to Frances Fitzgerald yesterday.

It was established in February of last year to investigate claims made by Sergeant Maurice McCabe about the garda Cavan-Monaghan division.

These claims would eventually lead to the resignation of then Justice Minister Alan Shatter.
