The US President has ordered advance copies of the forthcoming Game of Thrones series.

One of the perks of being the most powerful man on the planet is that he can order the show's creators to send him the programmes.

Not even TV critics got advance screenings, but the makers of the show say Barack Obama requested the new series early, as he couldn't wait for them to be released.

They say it was a strange moment, but given he's the leader of the free world, what are you going to do?

If you're not quite as powerful as President Obama, then Game of Thrones returns for US audiences on April 24, and will follow on Sky Atlantic in Ireland.
