Today will be mostly cloudy with scattered outbreaks of rain but some drier periods as well. Rain is likely to turn persistent and heavy in the east and northeast and spread westwards later in the day.
Top temperatures reaching 9 to 13 degrees in a moderate to fresh east to northeasterly breeze which will ease towards evening.
Tonight will continue to be mostly cloudy with further outbreaks of rain. East to northeasterly winds will be light to moderate generally but light variable over the southern half of the country.
Lowest temperatures of 4 to 6 degrees but temperatures may fall to 2 to 3 degrees in southwestern and southern counties where cloud may break.
