Unemployment is still a problem for young people
The latest unemployment figures have shown a drop of almost 1% compared to this time last year.
Unemployment stood at 9.8% in March 2015 which subsequently fell to 8.6% in March of this year. Additionally, adjusted figures from the CSO shows a decrease of 23,000 people signing on the live register in the last year.
But unemployment remains a major issue for young people with just under a fifth of 15-24 year-olds still out out of work.
This data comes after Paddy Power announced that 300 jobs will be lost this year in Irish operations as part of a business merger with Betfair.
