The "Formation" singer is heading further down the controversy hole
It's been almost two months since Beyonce release the single "Formation" and the accompanying music video, both of which caused a lot of controversy.
This was quickly followed by the Superbowl performance with Coldplay and Bruno Mars, but since then, there's been very little news on the next single or the upcoming album.
Then, on March 9th, Beyonce posted a series of images, which many took to believe as being from the set of her next music video:
The official Beyonce fan-club @TheBeyHiveTeam tweeted the following on March 20th:
EXCLUSIVE: We just received official word that Beyoncé's sixth studio album and mini film are DONE & rock solid set for an April release! 🐝— THE BEYHIVÉ (@TheBeyHiveTeam) March 20, 2016
This week, that same account announced the story that Beyonce's new video would feature the parents of Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown and Tamir Rice. The parents are reported to be holding up pictures of their children who were the victims of police brutality
Beyonce had attended the the Justice for Trayvon Martin rally in 2013, while Tidal (co-owned by Beyonce's husband Jay-Z) has donated $1.5 million to Black Lives Matter organisations already this year.
It would appear that the controversy surrounding "Formation" may have just been the tip of the iceberg for what Beyonce has in mind for her upcoming album. Watch this space...
