Cold with frost and fog clearing after dawn. Dry with good sunshine in many areas this morning, but scattered rain or hail showers in parts of the west and north and these will become more widespread this afternoon and some will be heavy.
Cool with afternoon highs of 8 to 11 degrees Celsius in moderate west to northwest winds backing west to southwest this afternoon.
Scattered heavy showers will continue in Atlantic coastal counties tonight, but will mostly die away elsewhere and long clear periods will develop with sharp frost and some fog forming, as temperatures fall to between -1 and plus 2 degrees Celsius.
