The former vice presidential candidate has cancelled campaign stops for Donald Trump following the incident
Sarah Palin has cancelled campaign stops for Donald Trump to be by her husband's side after he was seriously injured in a snow machine crash.
US media reports indicated Todd Palin was in intensive care after the crash in Alaska on Sunday night.
In a statement, the Trump campaign said: "Todd Palin was in a bad snow machine accident last night and is currently hospitalized.
"Governor Palin is returning to Alaska to be with her husband and looks forward to being back on the campaign trail soon. Mr Trump's thoughts and prayers are with the Palin family at this time."
A source close to Mrs Palin told NBC News the crash was "very serious".
No other details on her husband's condition have been made available.
Mrs Palin was scheduled to appear on behalf of Mr Trump at an event in Florida on Monday, one day before the state's primary.
The 2008 vice presidential candidate endorsed the Republican frontrunner in January.
