A man has died after being electrocuted while cutting hedges in Athea in County Limerick.
Two separate investigations are underway into the incident.
The man was cutting hedges in the village of Athea in West Limerick at around 1pm this afternoon when he clipped some power lines, Live95FM reports.
He was electrocuted and died at the scene.
Emergency services, including the fire service from Abbeyfeale, and gardaí were called.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination.
The body of the man remains at the scene.
Gardaí at Newcastle West are investigating but are not treating the death as suspicious.
The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has also been notified and an investigation is underway.
