Tuesday's weather: Heavy rain in Leinster and Munster

Wet in many parts of Leinster and Munster this morning with heavy rain locally.

Drier weather over Ulster and Connacht will spread to the rest of the country during the morning. Sunny spells will develop but there will be showers as well.

Highest temperatures of 9 or 10 degrees early in the day, but it will turn colder later in the afternoon.

Westerly winds will be fresh to strong and gusty.


Showers will continue tonight and they will turn heavy with hail and possibly thunder.

Some showers will turn wintry with snow on high ground, but possibly also on lower levels.

It will become windy as well with strong to gale force westerly winds and severe gusts along west coasts.

Lowest temperatures between zero and 4 degrees.
