Cold and frosty in many places this morning with patches of freezing fog.

Outbreaks of showery rain and sleet will affect parts of the west and south for a time but will have cleared by the afternoon. Otherwise dry and bright with sunshine at times.

Highest temperatures of 4 to 6 degrees in light breezes.

Tonight

Good clear periods overnight with lowest temperatures around freezing.

Widespread frost again with further patches of freezing fog.

Scattered wintry showers developing in the south.
