Former Minister for Justice and Law Reform Dermot Ahern launched a strong defence for the Special Criminal Court, following Sinn Fein's call to abandon them

Sinn Fein have proposed, once again, that the Special Criminal Court should be abolished.

He also refuted any suggestions from anyone, including Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams, that there is no underworld.

Also, when asked about coalition possibilites for after the General Election, and the chance of Fianna Fáil supporting a Fine Gael lead government, his response was 'never say never'.
