Woman dies in Meath collision

Gardaí at Ashbourne are appealing for witnesses to contact them

A woman has died in a two vehicle crash in Meath this afternoon.

The woman, in her 40s, lost her life after her car collided with a truck at Baymore Cross in Laytown at about 2pm.

The woman, who was the sole occupant of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was removed to Our Lady's Hospital Navan.

The road remains closed to allow a forensic examination take place.
