The retailer says this is part of a €16m investment
Convenience store chain Centra is to create 480 new jobs around the country, as it announces plans to open 16 new stores this year.
The retailer says this is part of a €16m investment.
Centra says it saw sales of €1.54bn in 2015, and additional sales of €6m in its 'Live Well' products - such as salad boxes, fruit pots and avocados.
Martin Kelleher, managing director of Centra, said: "We are delighted to announce that our sales figures show a 1.6% growth on the previous year. This is testament to our 460 local retailers nationwide whose hard work ensures that Centra continues to lead the market in terms of value, choice and quality".
"Through our Live Well initiative, we have recognised the changing needs of our time strapped customers who are looking for healthy and nutritious food on the go".
Centra has more than 460 stores, employing almost 11,000 people and serving over three million customers per week.
This jobs news comes as Sky Ireland announces 130 new roles at its customer service centre in Cork.
