Others on the list include Jonathan Healy, Pat Kenny and Bobby Kerr
We all know he has plenty to say on almost everything - but George Hook has hit the headlines again.
This time it is because of his influence on Twitter.
The latest Murray Tweet Index shows Mr Hook is the second most influential journalist on the social media site.
Newstalk Lunchtime presenter Jonathan Healy also features prominently on the list of influencers - coming in at 19.
While Newstalk's Pat Kenny, Bobby Kerr and Chris Donoghue make the top 50.
The index, compiled by communications consultancy Murray, ranks journalists across six parameters - measuring popularity, quality of engagement and level of activity.
The wide reach of journalists on Twitter shows the top 100 on the index have 2.26 million followers.
Analysing the results by outlet showed RTÉ with 21 journalists in the top 100, the Irish Times with 18, Independent News & Media with 15 and Newstalk with nine.
The Sunday Business Post business editor Tom Lyons takes top business reporter, while Today FM's Gavan Reilly and the Irish Independent's Adrian Weckler retained their leads in the politics and technology categories.
Irish Times US correspondent, Simon Carswell, was the top news journalist of the year.
But Hook topped the poll again, as the winner of the 'most followers' parameter.
