Appeal for witnesses after man and woman injured in aggravated burglary in Co Galway

Two men took a sum of money and phones during the incident yesterday evening

An investigation has been launched into a violent burglary in Tuam, County Galway yesterday.

A man and woman in their 30s suffered non-life threatening injuries when they were attacked by three men at Parkwest in Clonberne at about 7.30 PM last night, as they returned home with their two children.

The men - who are described as thinly built Eastern Europeans, around 170 to 180 cm in height - made off with some cash and phones. It is unknown in what direction they travelled following the incident.

The children were uninjured.

Gardaí are calling for anyone who may have seen anything unusual in the Parkwest area between 7 and 8 PM on the night of Tuesday 5th January to contact Tuam Garda Station on 093-70840, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111, or any Garda station.
