A cold and cloudy day with outbreaks of rain. Rain will develop during the morning in the southwest and quickly spread throughout Munster, then nationwide during the afternoon. Rain will be heavy and persistent across southern counties but will be more patchy elsewhere. Highest temperatures this afternoon will reach between 7 and 10 degrees, mildest along the south coast. Moderate southeast winds during the morning will increase fresh to strong.
Winds will veer to the east and slacken tonight and temperatures will fall to between 3 and 5 degrees. The rain will continue overnight but will break up in to showers and it will gradually become drier by morning.
Rainfall Warning for Cork and Kerry
Rain is expected on Friday and overnight, but should turn more showery during Saturday morning.
25 to 35 mm are expected, with possibly higher totals on mountains.
