The Political Editor of the Belfast Telegraph Liam Clarke has died.

His wife Kathryn announced his sudden passing on Facebook.

Mr Clarke had worked at the Sunday Times as its Northern Ireland editor for 20 years before becoming a columnist for the paper.

Tributes are being paid to him from across the world's of politics and media.

He is survived by his wife and three children.
