Offaly musician killed in early morning crash named as Paddy Buckley

An Offaly musician killed in an early morning crash has been named locally as Paddy Buckley.

The 38-year-old died after the car he was driving crashed at the Grand Canal near the village of Pollagh in the early hours of this morning.

His vehicle was located by a passerby at about noon today.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have seen what happened to come forward.
