Man dies and six injured in Co Galway collision

One of those injurd is in a serious condition

A man has died and six people have been injured in a three-vehicle collision in County Galway.

One of the injured is in a serious condition, after the crash just outside Headford.

 

The 20-year-old man died when the car he was driving collided with a jeep and another car, at Cordarragh at around 2pm this afternoon.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to Galway University Hospital.

Gardai say the woman driving the jeep is in a serious condition.

A child travelling with her, as well as four people from the other car, are being treated for injuries described as not-life threatening.

The road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.

Gardai are now appealing for witnesses to the crash to contact them
