Very windy and mostly cloudy this morning, with showery outbreaks of rain in many areas, heavy in places, especially in the west and southwest. Brightening up gradually from the west, with sunny spells developing, but some scattered showers also. However, good dry intervals will develop in the afternoon, with showers becoming more isolated.
Mild at first, in strong and gusty southerly winds, with maximum temperatures of 13 or 14 Celsius, but turning cooler later, with winds easing. This evening and early tonight, another spell of persistent and locally heavy rain will move up across many southern and eastern areas.
Rain early tonight in east Munster and in parts of Leinster, but clearer weather, with scattered showers, elsewhere will spread to all parts overnight, the showers turning heavy in Atlantic coastal counties by morning.
Light to moderate south to southwest winds will freshen later. Minimum temperatures 5 to 8 Celsius.
