The army bomb disposal team has been called out to a search at Jenkinstown in Co Louth.

A dwelling and lands are being searched as part of an ongoing operation targetting dissident republicans in the border region.

So far a number of items have been found including the component parts of an improvised explosive device.

A quantity of ammunition has also been recovered.

Searches are ongoing.
