Woman arrested over violent cold case murder in Belfast

Male victim of the 2001 killing had learning difficulties

A woman (36) has been arrested in Belfast in connection with the murder of a man 14 years ago.

David Clarke (26), who had learning difficulties, was found beaten to death at his flat in the city in June 2001.

Police believe he had been bullied in the weeks leading up to his death.

The investigation was reopened last month, on foot of new information. A number of arrests have been made.

The woman was detained in the north of city this morning by detectives from the Serious Crime Branch.
