Gardaí renew appeal for information on Longford hit and run

A man in his 20s suffered serious head injuries in the collision

Gardaí in Longford have renewed their appeal for information following a hit and run incident earlier this month.

A man in his 20s suffered serious head injuries when he was hit by a silver Ford Transit van on main street, Edgeworthstown at 2:30am on September 10th.

Gardaí said the van failed to remain at the scene.

The man was taken to the Midlands Regional Hospital in Mullingar before being transferred to Beaumont hospital in Dublin.

He remains in a critical condition in hospital.

Gardaí have set up an incident room at Granard Garda Station and are trying to trace the movement of the van both before and after the collision.

The Van had an 07 Sligo registration.

Anyone who was in the Edgeworthstown area between 2am and 3am on the 10th September - or anyone with any information about the incident - is asked to contact Granard Garda Station on (043) 6687660.
