WATCH: Mary Lou McDonald believes the murder of Tom Oliver should be investigated by Gardaí

Sinn Fein deputy leader was speaking with Ivan Yates on The Hard Shoulder

The Dublin Central TD was reacting to comments her party president Gerry Adams that jailing those responsible for the murder of Tom Oliver would be counter-productive

The farmer was abducted from his home in Riverstown in 1991 before being killed by the IRA. Mr Adams made his comments on LMFM last week.

Today his deputy leader Mary Lou McDonald said that the murder was worthy of investigation, and that it is the responsibility of the Gardaí to do so.

You can tune in to The Hard Shoulder every weekday  from 4am-7am online, on our apps or on 106-108FM.
