WATCH: Was the Irish reaction to the death of Princess Diana warranted

Shane Coleman still can't understand why people mourn for someone they've never met

Tributes are flooding in on the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana's death.

She was killed in Paris on the 31st August 1997, when the limousine she was travelling in crashed, while being pursued by paparrazi.

The Princess of Wales was given a full state funeral, which drew more than a million people to London.

Shane Coleman however can still not understand why people in Ireland felt so moved when someone they'd never met died. He explained his reasons why to Ciara Kelly on Newstalk Breakfast.
