A man in his 60s has died following a collision between a van and an articulated truck in County Kerry.

The collision occurred at around 1pm this afternoon at Ballyduff, Knocknagoshel on the N21 Castleisland to Abbeyfeale Road.

The man was seriously injured in the collision and was brought to Kerry University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Gardaí said the driver of the truck was uninjured.

The stretch of road remains closed as the Garda Forensic Team carry out an examination. Local diversions are in place.
