Two men have been arrested after a taxi was carjacked in Dublin early this morning.

The car was taken on the Ballyboggan Road in Cabra at around 2.30am.

It was then seen driving along the M50.

It was eventually stopped at Mellows Crescent in Finglas by a garda.

The garda suffered injuries to his arm and has since been treated.

Two men, aged in their 20s and 30s, were arrested at the scene.

They are being held at Finglas garda station in the city.
