Morning top 5: Spanish police raid suspected attack ringleader's home; Varadkar in Montreal; Man in critical condition following Kilkenny stabbing

Spanish police have raided the flat of a man they think may by the ringleader of the group behind the terror attacks.

A major manhunt is continuing for Younes Abouyaaqoub, who is believed to have been driving the van which ploughed into a crowd in Barcelona.

Abouyaaqoub lived in Ripoll - a small town north of the city - along with several of the other terror suspects that have since been shot dead by police, or detained.

Ali Yassine, a member of the local mosque, said news of the attack came as a huge shock to the local community.

A man in his 20's remains in critical condition this morning after he was stabbed in Kilkenny.

Three men have been arrested in connection with the attack and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Gardaí found the man with stab injuries when they were called to a house on Love Lane, Castlecomer at around 7pm yesterday evening.

He was taken to St Lukes Hospital for treatment and remains in a critical condition.

Leo Varadkar and Justin Trudeau will march in today's Montreal Pride Parade today as the Taoiseach's three day visit to Canada gets underway.

The visit is expected to allow both men further discuss trade agreements.

On social media, Twitter users have been pushing the viral hashtag #justinformleo - calling on the Canadian Prime Minister to raise Ireland’s abortion legislation with Mr Varadkar.

27 people have been arrested at what is being described as a free speech rally in the US city of Boston.

Thousands of anti-racist protesters gathered to oppose the far right - a week after a woman was killed demonstrating against white supremacists in Charlottesville.

Hundreds of officers were drafted in to ensure order, and marchers were banned from carrying sticks or other potential weapons.

A Garda investigation is continuing in Wicklow after a 56-year-old man was found with serious injuries on Tuesday.

The man was discovered on Dargle Road in Bray - with significant injuries.

He is described as being 5-foot-8 in height, of thin build, with short grey hair and was wearing a wine-coloured jacket, a black t-shirt and dark tracksuit bottoms.

He is currently in a critical condition in St Vincent's University Hospital in Dublin.
