The Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is coming to Ireland next week.

During the two-day visit, he is expected to meet both the Taoiseach and President Michael D Higgins.

Mr Varadkar has cited Mr Trudeau's politics as an inspiration for his own vision as Taoiseach.

It was only last month that Mr Varadkar's predecessor, Enda Kenny, met Mr Trudeau in Canada on an official visit.
