Gardaí are investigating an armed robbery on a cash-in-transit van in north county Dublin.

It happened in Skerries at around 4.00pm Thursday afternoon.

Two masked men, one armed with a firearm, made off with a cash box.

The raiders fled the scene in a car, believed to be a Mini Cooper.

This was later found burnt out.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
