An elderly man has died following a crash in Limerick this morning.

The two-vehicle crash happened on Condell Road at around 8am.

A man in his 70s - the sole occupant of one of the cars - was removed to University Hospital Limerick, where he later passed away.

Gardaí say the driver of the second car was not injured.
