A disgruntled former employee shot and killed five people in Orlando, Florida before killing himself. 

Orange County Police confirmed that 3 men and one woman were killed by a lone shooter at a business on Forsyth Rd. Another man later died at Orlando Regional Medical Center. 

They also confirmed that there were seven survivors of the shooting.    

Orange County Sheriff, Jerry Demings said in a press briefing that the gunman was fired from the company Flamma Inc. back in April. 

The Sheriff added that "The shooter was carrying a gun and an knife. He was fired from this business. The individual shot former co-workers."

The police said the shooting was not linked to terrorism and also said they're currently notifying the families of victims of the attack. 


The FBI said they are assisting the sheriff's office and Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs is also at the scene.

The Mayor of Florida, Rick Scott released a statement saying about the shooting saying "Over the past year, the Orlando community has been challenged like never before.

"I ask all Floridians to pray for the families impacted by this senseless act of violence.

"I will remain in contact with the Orlando law enforcement community throughout the day as more information is made available."
