Two men seriously injured after fall from Cliffs of Moher

The Rescue 115 helicopter was tasked with rescuing the men

Two men are said to be seriously injured after an accident on the Cliffs of Moher in Co.Clare.

They were rescued earlier today after falling from the Cliffs of Moher. 

It's understood that the men in their 20's and 40's fell down the cliffs in County Clare at around 12.30am this afternoon.

Shannon based helicopter Rescue 115 was tasked to winch the men, with the Doolin coastguard also on site to help.

One man was transferred by ambulance to hospital while the other was flown to Galway University Hospital.

One of the men is understood to have sustained a serious back injury while the other is believed to have sustained two broken legs.
