This week on Down to Business: Death of the maverick, Austin's entrepreneurs, food journalism

Two hours in the company of Bobby Kerr and some of the most interesting voices in business for your long Easter weekend...

Bobby Kerr is live in studio on Saturday morning, bringing you the most interesting business stories around and an eclectic array of guests for two whole hours.

Catch the action on air and online from 10:00am.

Here's what you have to look forward to:

  • Turning to newspapers first, Carr Communications account director Sinead O'Donnell is on hand to discuss the headlines hitting the front and business pages on Saturday morning.
  • Keith Mahon, co-founder of TheTaste.ie, talks about being named Ireland's leading food and drink journalist.
  • We head to Austin to catch up with a stateside Richard Chambers as he cover Trump's first 100 days in power. Bobby will be finding out how the Texas city is a hotbed of entrepreneurial activity and how it's dealing with having a controversial figure in the White House.
  • In this week's Motoring Mailbag, we'll learn why grey is Ireland's favourite car colour.
  • With summer just around the corner, tour guides are in the spotlight for our industry review. Kevin Gallagher of Teelings DistilleryGreen Horizon Tours owner Jorg Mille; national tour guide Colette Farrelly and Paddywagon Tours owner Cathal O'Connell join Bobby in studio.
  • Phil Beadle, author of Rules for Mavericks, talks about how the "maverick" term once associated with the likes of David Bowie, Johann Cruyff and Prince has now been pinned on the anti-establishment political likes of Nigel Farage and Donald Trump.
  • Sitting in the executive chair is Pat Larkin. Having served in the army for 13 years, Larkin decided to tap into his inner entrepreneur. Leaving the barracks has served him well – his IT security company Ward Solutions recently invested over €1 million in a new operations centre.

All this and more on Down To Business with Bobby Kerr tomorrow.
