What can strangers see on your Facebook?

The issue of online privacy is one which is gaining more attention as time goes by. Facebook has made it easier than ever before to take control of privacy settings, but did you know that it's possible to view what strangers can see if they look at your profile?

By clicking on the small lock symbol in the top right corner, you'll find shortcuts to the privacy settings. From here you can click through and ensure your profile is as secure as you want it to be. 

 

Clicking "Who can see my stuff?" produces a small drop down menu that is incredibly useful. From here, it's possible see what strangers and those who are not "friends" can see on your profile. The content visible to you in this mode is what is on display to those who land on your Facebook profile from a Google search, for example. 

It's also possible to use this tool to see what individual friends can see on your wall. Simply type in their name into the search bar.
