There's been no shortage of exciting devices launched this year
We've come to that time of year again; we're looking back at the best devices launched in the past 12 months. If you're looking to buy a smartphone as a gift to a loved one or for yourself, here's a rundown on the best phones on offer.
Doro Phone Easy 612 - €89.99
Doro are a brand that specialise in phones for older people. The keys are very spaced out, which makes texting very easy. It's possible to have three numbers on speed dial. This phone has a decent camera and a nice big screen.
Huawei Y6 - €169.99
Huawei are one of my favourite brands at the moment. They produce high quality devices at a very reasonable price. The 5.0-inch screen gives users plenty of space to play around with. The only downside to this device is that there's only 8GB of internal storage, meaning the purchase of a microSD card is a necessity.
The 8MP camera takes lovely images and it's hard to beat in this price-range.
Sony Xperia XA - €299.99
Sony are a premium brand, so much so that even their budget produces feel luxurious. There's a 13MP camera and a 2300mAh battery. The only thing worth noting about this device is that a micro SD card is a necessity as there's only 16GB of built in storage.
Huawei P9 - €549
At €549 the P9 is one of the more affordable high-end smartphones. Huawei continue to impress me with every model that comes out. This device was designed alongside camera manufacturer Leica, providing the user with two camera lenses on the rear of the device. These two lenses work to produce breathtaking photos, in any light.
Samsung Galaxy S7
Samsung continue to dominate the high-end smartphone market, alongside Apple. Their latest flagship device, Samsung Galaxy S7, is a stunning phone. There's 4GB of RAM internally, which makes multi-tasking a breeze. They also brought back the microSD slot on this device, meaning the memory can be expanded.
