A Cork drinks company has signed a deal with Carlsberg's House of Beer subsidiary to bring its cider to the French market.

Nohoval, established by the husband and wife team of Daniel and Geraldine Emerson in 2010, has secured a five-year contract which will see its Stonewall Cider initially enter Irish-themed bars in the country.

Stonewell will be known as Finbarra Cider in France, with orders for the first three years set to match Nohoval's total output for 2015.

Daniel Emerson hailed the deal as a real landmark for the young company.

Emerson said:

"A large five year contract for a six year old company allows us to plan our business with greater confidence.

"That this contract is for a market of 63 million people and with a subsidiary of Carlsberg is a significant endorsement of both our business and our cider.”
