Cardless cash withdrawals: Google is changing how we take out cash

Is the traditional wallet on the way out?

Google has unveiled another new feature of Android Pay, which gives them the edge over Apple and Samsung Pay. The cardless cash withdrawal was unveiled on Wednesday at Google's I/O developers conference.

Users in San Francisco and the Bay Area can now access cash by tapping their phones against an ATM, rather than inserting a card.

Android Pay is also making its first big international push, with the payments platform launching in the UK Wednesday and promising the arrival of the feature in Singapore and Australia "soon."

Google's mobile payment system was first unveiled a year ago and has been embraced by Transport London on busses and trains.
