Ireland were beaten 2-1 by France in Lyon on Sunday afternoon
Twitter reacted with praise as Ireland went out of Euro 2016 at the hands of the home nation in Lyon.
Ireland took the lead through a Robbie Brady penalty after just two minutes, but the class of France's squad came through in the second half after Didier Deschamps made some attacking changes, with Antoine Griezmann grabbing two goals.

Speaking after the match, Seamus Coleman stated that the team were disappointed to be going out in the way that they have, feeling that they'd let the lead slip.
Coleman said "we just hope we made people proud because our fans are amazing and everyone back home is amazing, and we're just disappointed we couldn't see it out."
