The Chelsea goalkeeper made comments that did not sit well with Wilmots
All is not well in th Belgian camp ahead of Saturday's clash with Ireland as Thibaut Courtois has reportedly been involved in a clash with manager Marc Wilmots over comments made following their 2-0 defeat at the hands of Italy.
The incident was supposed to have taken place on the plane back to their training base and were reported by BeIN Sports, who claim a 'lively conversation' took place between the pair.
Wilmots has come under increasing scrutiny for the team's defeat to Italy and even his players joined in with Courtois stating the team had suffered a 'tactical defeat', which was an obvious dig at Wilmots.
The Chelsea shot-stopper said, ‘We were outclassed on all fronts,
"Tactically, technically and organisationally we came up short,’ he added.
Belgium are the top-ranked team in Europe and were hotly tipped to win their group, which includes Ireland, Sweden and Italy, with ease. That job has become decidely more difficult following their loss to Italy and they are now faced with the task of beating Ireland if they have any chance of topping the group.
The Belgian Red Devils have, arguably, the best array of talent in the tournament, but Wilmots is failing to get the best out of them and the criticism has come from all angles.
