Taoiseach Enda Kenny says he has no regrets about calling out Castlebar "whingers"
Tánaiste Joan Burton says it is important for politicians to listen to people, after Taoiseach Enda Kenny claimed there were a lot of 'whingers' in Castlebar.
The Taoiseach has come under pressure to make an apology but refused to do so earlier.
Mr Kenny made the comments at a rally in the town last night.
He insisted that progress had been made and jobs delivered, but that was not enough for some.
When asked on the campaign trail in west Clare this afternoon, Mr Kenny says he does not regret the remarks.
While Labour leader Joan Burton says politicians need to listen to people's problems in order to try to make things better.
