The Taoiseach says when the Garda Commissioner Noirin O'Sullivan wants extra resources she gets them.

Enda Kenny says they are currently in the process of restocking the garda force, but that this will take some time.

In an interview on Red FM in Cork, he described the threats made against journalists at Independent News and Media as "deplorable".

But he said every resource needed by the gardaí to tackle gangland crime is being made available.

In the same interview, Mr Kenny said that a Fianna Fáil/Sinn Féin coalition would only lead the country into chaos.

He said the last Fianna Fáil government left "practically every mortgage holder in the country in distress".

He said he wants the electorate to return the current administration to power.
