A number of ministers have declared they would be interested in the leadership
Joan Burton says she is confident she will continue to lead the Labour Party for some time to come.
Even though she is just 18 months in the job, recently a number of other Labour ministers have expressed a desire to lead the party.
She is likely to face a heave if Labour suffers heavy losses in the upcoming election.
But the Tánaiste says she is planning on leading the party for some time yet.
