WATCH: Taoiseach confronted by anti-water charge protesters in Cork

Shouts of 'Traitor' and 'Out, out, out!' were heard

The Taoiseach Enda Kenny has been confronted by protesters while campaigning in Cork city centre.

He was trying to gain access to the Events Centre site on South Main Street.

The protesters were carrying banners and shouting 'Traitor' and 'Enda Out' as they voiced their opposition to a number issues - including eviction, water charges and austerity.

Mr Kenny is due to lead two sod turning ceremonies in the city this afternoon.

Later he - along with Ministers Frances Fitzgerald and Simon Coveney - will set out the party's justice plans.

But as Mr Kenny walked around, he was greeted by protesters.

Fiona O'Donovan from Cork's RedFM is on South Main Street at the Events Centre.
